Strong earthquake hits holy land of Tibet

A 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck near one of Tibet's holy cities early Tuesday (Jan. 7), the China Earthquake Networks Center reported, damaging buildings in areas around the city of Shigatse and sending people in neighboring Nepal and India running for their lives.
